Posted on the July 9th, 2018

LGC is an international leader in the extended life sciences sector, including human healthcare, agri-food & the environment.
They provide a comprehensive range of reference materials, proficiency testing schemes, genomics reagents and instrumentation, as well as research and measurement services.

The 2,300 employees include internationally-recognised scientists who are experts in their field. LGC is headquartered in London and operates out of 19 countries worldwide. LGC has been home to the UK Government Chemist for more than 100 years and is the UK’s National Measurement Laboratory (NML) designated for chemical and bio measurement.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kastner to design, supply and deliver the new NML molecular laboratories at LGC Teddington, after a competitive tender process. The wide-ranging scheme will include the removal of the existing laboratories, and the installation of new ventilation, fume cupboards and partitioning to create a lighter, brighter and more commodious state-of-the-art facility for the technical teams. The new laboratories will house LGC’s advanced technology for Next Generation Sequencing and digital PCR and will be the future home of the UKAS accredited digital PCR measurement facility, providing independent and authoritative measurements of DNA for LGC’s customers across the diagnostics, AgBio and food sectors.

December update

The project is now approaching completion with handover to the client arranged for Wednesday 12th December.
